Abigail played on the swings at the park for the first time this weekend and she loved it. She laughed, smiled and squealed the whole time.

Abigail vs. the Sweet Potatoes
Abigail had her first solid food this weekend and after some initial reluctance (and very funny faces), she welcomed the sweet potatoes with open hands and an open mouth. While most of it seemed to end up on her face (as the pictures show), we like to think that at least a little made it all the way to her tummy. Next up- butternut squash. The squash doesn't stand a chance.

Six Months!
Abigail turned six months today and we couldn't be happier, or more shocked at how fast the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing our tiny newborn home from UCLA and now she is a full-fledged, active baby. Abigail is doing great and is now 13 pounds, 13 ounces and 25 inches long- still a little peanut but oh so cute. Abs has had a busy week- she went to her first bonfire at the beach for our friend Scott's birthday, went to her first music class, checked out her new highchair (solid foods to start this weekend!), and, most exciting of all, had her first tooth come in! Despite our best efforts, we could not get any pictures of the tooth- she is very protective of it. We will keep at it, though, and will be sure to post some photos of our attempts to feed Abigail sweet potatoes in a few days. Happy half birthday Abigail!

San Francisco- December 2009
One cloudy day during our trip to the Bay Area, the three of us ventured up to San Francisco for Abigail's first visit. After lunch in the Marina, we explored the Palace of Fine Arts with Abigail's trust taggie blanket in tow. Abigail took in the Palace of Fine Arts, but a walk through the Presidio in her cozy Ergo carrier knocked her right out and she slept through Chrissy Field, views of the Golden Gate bridge, and a rainy drive through Golden Gate Park up to Ocean Beach. She was one tired baby! Overall it was a successful first SF trip and we predict she will be back for more soon.
Christmas 2009
After showing off her new sitting up skills in her rocking chair at home and exploring her new exersaucer, Abigail and her parents traveled to the Bay Area for an extended Christmas/New Years visit to Burlingame. Abigial enjoyed her first Christmas, including a fun Christmas Eve night at the Mays where Abigail got to wear her first skirt, and an exciting Christmas morning where Abigail observed the present opening with interest, including pulling some bows on her own packages. She was not such a fan of being put in a box for picture purposes, though. After Christmas Abigail continued to show off her huge smile and her improved ability to sit up with only a little help from her Boppy. All in all she (and her parents) had a great visit with family.
